Sports & Recreation Facilities

Holwell has a large Recreation ground with Football and Cricket Pitch, together with the Holwell Bowls Club. This is maintained overall by Holwell Parish Council.

Holwell, itself, sadly no longer has its own cricket club, but the facilities are used regularly by Ickleford Cricket Club as its second ground.

The football pitch is used during the season by Hitchin Town Harriers.

Cricket

Bowls

Holwell Bowls Club is long established and is based at the John Rand Recreation Ground off Holwell Road.

Swimming

The closest swimming pool is Hitchin Swimming Centre which has the following facilities:

50m heated outdoor pool (open from late May to early September) with children's pool, sunbathing terrace and children's play area

25 metre deck level 8 lane indoor heated pool and an indoor toddler pool.

Archers Health & Fitness Club - 80-station Technogym equipped fitness suite, steam room, sauna, and 3 new multi-purpose fitness studios.
