Footpaths (Rights of Way)
The countryside around Holwell is criss-crossed with bridleways and footpaths. A map showing the definitive rights of way within the parish can found at:

Holwell Parish Council is currently involved in determining access for some long-standing footpaths within the village.
Rights of Way comes under Hertfordshire County Council who should be contacted in cases of maintenance problems. Please feel free to notify the Parish Council in addition.

Barn Owl Walks
Several years ago, a leaflet detailing walks around Holwell, Ickleford and Pirton through countryside inhabited by Barn Owls was produced by the Countryside Management Service.
